Position Summary The Field Services Engineer works at the regional office as a member of the IT team and focuses on overall support of Suffolks New York office, as well as the surrounding job sites and offices. Face-to-face support will make up the majority of your day, troubleshooting problems related to the desktop-computing, server, wireless or remote environments. The position requires excellent leadership, communication, technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide superior support and service to a wide range of internal contacts. Responsibilities Provide end-user technical support. Troubleshoot problems related to the desktop-computing, server, wireless or remote environments. Serve as an escalation and knowledge point for other staff members to come to for advice and direction Provide support for VIP problems. Provide second-level support for Help Desk requests, with an emphasis on medium to difficult issues Follow and create standard operating procedures around process and documentation. Recommend and implement process improvements Respond to job site service requests regarding installation, configuration and maintenance of switches, routers and firewall hardware. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelors degree with 3-5 years experience working in IT role including Help Desk and Hardware deployment/ configuration, 2-3 years of end-user facing support SME knowledge of PC hardware and software with an emphasis on Microsoft environments Working knowledge of all components of IT infrastructure including desktops, servers, routers, and wireless devices Understanding of VPN tunnels, LAN/WAN administration/support; Familiarity with Office 365, Microsoft Azure a plus; Ability to interface and service VIPs with diplomacy and confidence Familiarity with Service Desk Ticketing software (Service Now) Above average troubleshooting skills with an aptitude for problem source isolation Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and collaborative Must possess Suffolks Core Values: Passion, Integrity, Hard Work, Professionalism, and Caring Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and work with other teams to follow the issues to resolution Excellent customer service, communication skills (oral and written) and time management skills.
