    Qualifications - External

    Requirements:

    Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering or a related technical field.

    • Basic understanding of semiconductor devices and fabrication processes.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, Python, MATLAB, or similar.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $26.00 -$44.00 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.     The Technology Development (TD) Intern will support the LV/MV EFK technology development team in advancing semiconductor device performance, reliability, and manufacturing capability. This role provides hands-on experience in wafer characterization, defect analysis, reliability testing, and yield improvement activities within a semiconductor development environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support wafer inspection and defect analysis activities to identify process and device-related issues.
    • Perform data analysis to help improve device yield and manufacturing performance.
    • Assist with device characterization and electrical measurements at wafer level.
    • Support reliability characterization activities, including:
      • TDDB (Time-Dependent Dielectric Breakdown)
      • WL-UIL (Wafer-Level Unclamped Inductive Load) measurements
      • Other device reliability and qualification testing
    • Analyze test data and prepare technical reports summarizing results and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with Device, Process Integration, Product, and Reliability Engineering teams.
    • Support root-cause investigations and corrective action initiatives for yield and reliability issues.
    • Participate in design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis to optimize device performance.
    • Document findings and present project updates to the engineering team.
