  • Responsibilities
    • We have two kinds of counselors: general counselors and specialists.
    • All our counselors are assigned to a specific age group with whom they live in the cabins, eat meals and attend special events and evening activities.
    • Specialists spend their four daytime activity periods at their specialty (e.g., lifeguards are at the waterfront, tennis specialists instruct on the courts, etc.).
    • General counselors accompany their age group of campers from period to period and participate with them in the various activities that Pontiac offers.
    • Regardless of position, though, our primary responsibility is the health, safety and happiness of our campers!

  • Qualifications
    • Camp Pontiac is interested in speaking with those candidates who have attended at least one year of college.
    • We hire candidates who played on a varsity high school team and/or college varsity, junior varsity or club team.
    • Child care experience and/or college majors including elementary ed, secondary ed, special ed or physical ed is a plus.

    $2400 - $3000 plus travel
