If so, come and learn as you collaborate as part of the exciting and dynamic Wellness Team at the Church while you earn school credit! These Coaching Interns will work at the Church Office Building in downtown Salt Lake City, approximately 2-3 days (10-20 hours) per week, with a minimum of 10 hours per week, for up to six months. Days and hours are flexible, during 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, as long as the schedule is consistent. The meaningful work will support initiatives associated with the LDS Church wellness program, and perform one-on-one wellness coaching with Church employees around nutrition, exercise, and living healthier lifestyles. Qualifications Experience and Education: Fundamental knowledge of how to help others adopt and live a healthy lifestyle. Basic knowledge of proper exercise programming and nutrition. Have a basic understanding of Microsoft office and other basic computer programs. Currently enrolled in a degree in the area of exercise science and wellness required, or have graduated within one year. Competencies: Ability to work as part of a team. Customer/client orientation. Detail oriented. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Responsibilities Job Duties: Assists the wellness center manager with a variety of wellness projects, which include but arent limited to: * Meet one-on-one with employees to provide ongoing wellness coaching and behavior change support * Meet one-on-one with employees to create exercise and/or nutrition plans * Opportunity to instruct group fitness classes (yoga, Pilates, aerobics, abs, lift, etc.) * Help orient employees to the wellness center and demonstrate how to properly use the equipment Organize and present educational workshops on nutrition, movement, stress management, etc. Worthiness Qualification Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
