Position exists to promote a safe and peaceful environment in which church members and visitors can worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances in order for the mission of the Church to be accomplished. This position helps accomplish goals and tasks specific to individual divisions within the Church Security Department. Responsibilities Unarmed Position Be familiar with and compliant to all rules, regulations, directives, and instructions published and promoted by CSD for the proper operation and security of the environment in which the officer is assigned Display interpersonal/public relation skills with professional and Christlike demeanor Appropriately respond to all safety/security concerns such as fire, theft, vandalism, criminal trespass, bomb threats, illegal entry, or other criminal activity Appropriately respond to calls for first aid and medical assistance Professionally interact with outside agencies and other Church departments Submit complete written reports related to incidents, suspicious activity, and unusual events Actively patrol facilities and grounds for potential safety, environmental, or threat issues and report concerns to appropriate personnel Operate within moderate to high personal risk in threatening/hostile conditions and accept legal and reputational risk Work all front-line posts and respond to incidents with minimal supervision Be available to work any shift, site/location, or assignment Qualifications Must possess a current temple recommend Complete a HS diploma or equivalent 2 years' work experience Pass required screening, suitability assessment, background, and physical fitness tests Understand and exemplify the core Leadership Pattern talents: lead like the Savior, act under the direction of the Spirit, and align with the brethren Complete prescribed security training & certification within 90 days of hire (CPR, AED, First Aid, Basic Security Procedures) Preference given for: Management, first responder, medical, military, or customer service experience 2 years post-high school education Worthiness Qualification Must be an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a current temple recommend.
