This position provides routine cashier duties. Requires basic understanding of cash register operations and cash handling procedures. May monitor public access to building or location. Provides products to customers in a manner which promotes helpful, positive feelings. This is not an eligible "on-campus" position for LDSBC international students. Responsibilities 25% Determines the price of items selected by a customer, enters the price into the cash register to determine the total sale price. 25% Receives payment (cash or credit card), makes appropriate change and issues a receipt. 25% Responds to questions from customers about the merchandise, prices, and availability. 5% Notifies supervisor about merchandise returns for refunds. 10% Counts out drawer at beginning of shift and balances the cash drawer and makes deposits at the end of the day. 5% Restocks and straightens merchandise and keeps the work area neat and clean. 5% May provide housekeeping duties in surrounding work areas during "off peak" work periods. Qualifications High School graduate (or equivalent) with 1 - 3 years experience. Previous cashiering experience preferred. Must be well-groomed and promote positive interaction with customers. Basic math skills required. Must have good communication skills in the language of the country.
