Production Technician 4 - Deseret Mill and Pasta, Kaysville, UT United States | UT-Kaysville ID 215318, Type: Regular Full-Time ------------ Posting Info Posting Dates: 08/15/2018 - 09/14/2018 Job Family: Production & Manufacturing Department: Welfare Department Purposes The Production Technician 1-4 assists the production supervisor in all daily production operations. The incumbent assists with meeting the assigned production plan while maintaining a safe and sanitary facility. The incumbent will be involved in processing wheat based products. This includes cleaning wheat, milling wheat, and extrusion. The incumbent works regularly in a team environment to assist other production technicians, missionaries, and volunteers in completing assignments. The production technician must understand and follow Food Safety policies and procedures. Salary and grade will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Responsibilities may vary, depending on experience and training of incumbent. Duties may include the following: · Warehouse operations including packaging, casing and palletizing · Operates packaging equipment including fillers, labelers, form-fill-seal machines, and casers · Operates processing equipment including mixer, pasta extruders, and wheat cleaning · Maintains, repairs and/or adjusts operating equipment · Mixing ingredients for production batches · Cleans and sanitizes equipment and process areas · Inspects products to ensure food safety of contents and packaging. · Accurately and promptly completes production and inventory records for product quality and traceability · Assists in training of missionaries and volunteers in areas of food safety, sanitation, worker safety, production records, etc. Qualifications · Must be a temple worthy member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints · Associates degree or higher preferred · 2-3 years experience in a food production or related operation, salary commensurate with experience. · Must have an understanding of food safety principles. · Must be mechanically oriented and skilled · Must display required interpersonal, grooming and communication skills that reflect Welfare Services policies, and the image of the Church · Must be able to assist the efforts of volunteers and missionaries. · Must be capable to complete forklift certifications · Must have the aptitude to become certified in GMP, SSOP, and HACCP training modules · Must be willing to work shiftwork and able to work independently. · Must be capable of climbing stairs/ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending over or stooping · Must be willing and able to work in hot, cold, dirty or dusty environments Worthiness Qualification Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
