POSITION DETAILS
Stewards Individual Placement Program (SIPP) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. SIPP in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS) are seeking an intern who will engage with visitors of all ages from around the world as they learn about the site that commemorates the first successful power-driven airplane flight. At Wright Brothers National Memorial (WBNM) the intern will help connect other youth to the NPS and WBNM by representing and more effectively reaching younger audiences on site and through social media. The intern will interact with the general public by providing front-line services at the visitor center information desk, delivering interpretive audience-centered programs, developing original social media content, facilitating curriculum-based education programs, and assisting at special events. The incumbent will be provided training in 21st century, audience-centered interpretation and customer service best practices.
