    Spring 2019 - Humanitarian Emergencies Intern Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Internship Description The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) works in 190 countries and territories to put children first. UNICEF has helped save more childrens lives than any other humanitarian organization, by providing health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more. UNICEF USA supports UNICEF's work through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States. Humanitarian Emergencies Intern UNICEF USA seeks an intern for its Humanitarian Emergencies Department who will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of how UNICEF and UNICEF USA operate during emergencies and in response to various humanitarian situations including conflict, disaster, and emergency response. Key Responsibilities/Projects: Assist with preparation for meetings, events, presentations and/or reports Research, analyze and present information gathered from diverse sources on assigned topics/issues as needed Help collect and manage information between departments and UNICEF supporters/partners Maintain awareness of current humanitarian affairs and related issues, to include relevant considerations or other developments in specific subject area, country or region concerned Help support a variety of inquiries and information requests internally and externally Perform other duties as needed Qualifications: Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program Attention to detail with the ability to work independently and be flexible Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA Must demonstrate UNICEF USA Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork and Service Time Frame: Spring 2019 Days per Week: Flexible but Full Days Hours per Week: 21 hours This is an unpaid internship.
