    Spring 2019 - Sports Partnerships Intern Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Internship Description The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) works in 190 countries and territories to put children first. Sports Partnerships Intern UNICEF USA seeks an intern who will learn the essentials of strategic sports partnerships and community engagement and gain experience working closely with UNICEF Ambassadors, Supporters and the sports industry at large. The intern will complete their internship with an understanding of issues, events, and how UNICEF USA works with professional sports leagues, teams, athletes and agencies to bring awareness to helping children around the world. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, demonstrate initiative, creativity and enthusiasm, understand the importance of attention to details, be nimble and resourceful, and express an interest in learning about sports partnerships, communication and events through hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities/Projects: Take part in UNICEF USAs relationships with professional sports leagues, teams, athletes and agencies. Potentially including athletes/teams in the following leagues and more: NBA, NFL, MLS, MLB, NHL, WWE, PGA, LPGA, and WTA Monitor social media and sports media sources for sports-related activities Help with special events and support special projects related to UNICEF USAs objectives and incorporating sports partnerships Assist in researching athletes for future partnerships Assist with brainstorming content for social media guides for partnered athletes, teams and leagues Be aware of sports headlines related or useful to Sports Partnerships Support UNICEF key moments and campaigns that they related to our sports partners Prepare materials such as briefing packets, schedules/itineraries, run-of-shows, talking points, social media guides, etc. for athletes, staff and constituents for athlete-related activities Qualifications: Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program Sports Management or Sports Marketing major preferred Applicants should possess strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media Attention to detail and organizational skills Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel is preferred Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA Must demonstrate UNICEF USA Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork and Service Time Frame: Spring 2019 Days per Week: Flexible Hours per Week: 14-21 hours This is an unpaid internship.
