    Spring 2019 - Major Gifts Intern Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Internship Description The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) works in 190 countries and territories to put children first. UNICEF has helped save more childrens lives than any other humanitarian organization, by providing health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more. UNICEF USA supports UNICEF's work through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States. Major Gifts Intern UNICEF USA seeks a Major Gifts Intern who is interested in learning more about fundraising and development activities at an international non-profit. He/she will gain professional knowledge and training on Major Gift Fundraising, as well as an education on the programmatic methods, strategies, and challenges of implementing humanitarian aid and development programs for children around the world. Key Responsibilities/Projects: Assist with preparation for meetings, cultivation events, presentations and/or reports Help coordinate communications and disseminate information between departments and UNICEF supporters/partners Assist in maintaining effective workflow of the department and accuracy of our work including database entry and management; execution of mailings; fast-checking; and copy-editing Help brainstorm and execute ideas on cultivating, supporting, and stewarding leadership-level donors and philanthropists who are passionate about the work of UNICEF Qualifications: Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program Attention to detail with the ability to work independently and be flexible Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA Must demonstrate UNICEF USA Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service Time Frame: Spring 2019 Days per Week: Consecutive Full Days Hours per Week: 25 hours This is an unpaid internship.
