    Summer 2018 - Special Events Intern Location: NY - New York Employment Type: Internship Description The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) works in 190 countries and territories to put children first. UNICEF USA supports UNICEF's work through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States. Special Events Intern UNICEF USA seeks an intern for the Special Events Department who will learn first-hand about what goes into creating fundraising events, philanthropy and partnerships and the importance of fundraising and cultivation events. This internship will provide an opportunity to learn and develop event planning, project management, and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities/Projects: Take part in pre-event and post event planning and procedures (i.e. invites, RSVPS, check-in lists, etc.) Learn database BBCRM Participate in organizing event materials and event logistics Conduct research projects as assigned Contribute to the overall success of fundraisers in conjunction with the Special Events team Qualifications: Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are essential Attention to detail and organizational skills Interest in event and/or hospitality management or related field preferred Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel is preferred Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA Must demonstrate UNICEF USA Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork and Service Time Frame: Summer 2018 Days per Week: Flexible Hours per Week: 21-28 hours This is an unpaid internship.
