Non-Exempt Position Description
Bookkeeper
Overview
The purpose of this job is to record financial transactions, maintain the financial records of the church, and prepare monthly financial statements, payroll functions and other reports as requested.
Key Responsibilities
Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner
Administer company employee benefits programs
Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis
Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data
Administer Budget reports through accounting software
Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Preparation of business compliance forms: IRS Form 1099-NEC, Sales Tax, Business Property Tax, and giving statements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
3-5 years relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping
Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of ApprovalMax, Bill.com, APS payroll, desired but not required

Reports to: Director of Operations
Hours: 20-25 hours per week
Schedule: Availability from 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday
