Bookkeeper

Overview
Seeking a bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records of the church. Tracks all income and expenses, produces financial reports, oversees payroll and benefits, interfaces with congregants, and provides some office management support.
Key Responsibilities
Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner
Administer company employee benefits programs
Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis
Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data
Administer budget reports
Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Preparation of business compliance forms: IRS Form 1099-NEC , Business Property Tax, W-2s, and giving statements
Maintain employee paperwork/files
Finance volunteers management
Respond to inquiries from the congregation

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
3-5 years relevant experience working in accounting and/or full-charge bookkeeping.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
Experience with church or non-profit finances, working with designated and restricted accounts, a plus
Proficient skills in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables a plus)
Knowledge of ApprovalMax, Bill.com, APS payroll, desired but not required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage confidential information
Reports to: Executive Director of Operations
Hours: 24(+) hours per week
Schedule: Onsite availability from 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday -Thursday
