Remote Sensing Summer Intern Weyerhaeuser is currently seeking a

Remote Sensing Summer Intern. This position will be based out of the Weyerhaeuser headquarters building in the heart of Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle. This is an excellent professional development opportunity. Key Functions: Intern roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Analyzing data from remote sensing technologies; * Building and running scripts for remote sensing data QA/QC and processing; * Assisting data analysis for forestry business decisions; * Generating technical reports and presentations; * Participation on the Advanced Forestry Systems team; * Maintaining cloud-based data archive to insure high quality and security; * Working with team development managers to improve team performance; * Other duties/ projects as assigned or required as needed. * MSc/PhD degree in Forest Management. * Must be able to commit to a three-month internship.

• Knowledge of statistics and spatial analysis. * Demonstrated understanding of GIS and remote sensing applications in forestry. * Proficient in ESRI products, Python, R Statistical Analysis Program, MS Office suite. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Good technical writing capabilities. * Knowledge and/or experience with forest operations (required). * Experience / knowledge of growth and yield models. * Understanding of the forestry business. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment. * Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills. * High level of initiative and motivation. * Excellent planning and organizational skills. * Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. * Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
