Craftsperson (Equipment Operator) Weyerhaeuser recently announced

plans to upgrade the currently operational 8-foot lumber manufacturing facility in Millport, AL to a new, state of the art random length sawmill. We are beginning our adventure to a high tech, fast paced sawmill experience and are looking for experienced and skilled equipment operators to support and safely execute our processing and finishing procedures for manufacturing quality lumber. Key Functions * Relieve all work stations within the department and perform at production rates. * Monitor and coordinate flow of material to and from the machine centers, perform quality control checks, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure production quality and quantity standards are met. * Coordinate the flow of production and help where needed. * Perform quality control checks and works with appropriate persons to make necessary adjustments. * Remove jams and resolve other production flow issues. * Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment, including saw and/or knife changes, and work closely with the Maintenance department to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed. * Provide leadership within the work team, building and maintaining positive team relationships. * Successfully train others in the operation of equipment in the department. * Assist in maintaining housekeeping standards. * Flow to work across the facility (any department, any shift) as needed. * Able to work safely and follow all company policies and procedures * High school diploma or equivalent * 3+ years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment; previous lumber manufacturing/sawmill experience preferred * Demonstrated leadership and team skills * Outstanding comprehension, communication, and decision-making skills * Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision * Able to conduct visual equipment inspections, perform basic preventive maintenance and assist maintenance in troubleshooting/improving equipment * Able to perform basic calculations

• Ability to operate complex machinery and successfully complete mobile equipment training * Successful completion of assessment process, background check and post-offer pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as needed * Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment. * Able to perform all essential job function, which includes changing saws/knives, lifting 2-20 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb steps and ladders, work from height and in tight spaces, and standing or walking for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours. * Resume detailing your education and work history required. * Preference will be given to candidates with basic mechanical skills and previous experience in log processing, planer set up, lumber drying/grading, and/or large forklift operation **** About Wood Products: We've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
