Responsibilities of the Full-Time Youth Sports Coordinator include supervision of staff & volunteers, development & implementation of programs and membership satisfaction. This individual must possess strong communication and program developmental skills, be outgoing, a self-starter and able to multi-task. Must be available to work various weekday and weekends shifts. Possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a Full-Time Exempt position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Schedule use of YMCA facilities to deliver programs. * Assure that field areas are safe and clean * Maintain security of the game area * Act as on-site coordinator during practice and game day * Set up facilities, including opening and closing the building, if applicable * Supervise and support officials and coaches during practice and games * Arrange for substitutes in the absence of officials, if needed. * Report absences and tardiness to the program director. * Solve any problems on site * Maintain working condition of equipment, replacing any used or worn out items and all field maintenance. * Collect equipment at the end of season * Maintain positive program public relations * Collect program surveys * Distribute awards and pictures * Supervise all officials on site * Implement first aid and safety procedures according to our Association's policies. * Attend all scheduled staff training sessions and meetings. * Use all equipment and supplies according to recommended guidelines. * Promote/support the recruitment of volunteers and assist with their training, development and recognition. * Assist with the financial development of the Association through responsible stewardship of available resources and support/promote fund raising and special events. This includes, but is not limited to our annual and capital campaigns. Perform other duties as assigned. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, sex offender registry check, and reference checks Skills/ Requirements The successful candidate for this position will: Be at least 18 years of age; Possess strong communication and program developmental skills, be outgoing, a self-starter and able to multi-task; Be available to work various weekday shifts and weekends; Be friendly, courteous, possess a cooperative attitude and be a team player; Be able to work effectively under pressure; Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with public and staff Have a neat appearance and be well-groomed; Possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors Degree in related field preferred.
