YMCAYMCA of the Capital Area LocationBaton Rouge, LA Job Description The Youth Program Coordinator assists in the supervision of school age child care and summer camp programming within the branch. This position supports member participation and retention through assisting in the development and execution of school age child care and summer camp programs to achieve strategic goals and provide outstanding member service to all participants. This position will be accountable for the overall quality, maintenance, and safety of every aspect of the above program areas. Baton Rouge is Louisianas Capital City and the hub of all things Louisiana. AA/AS degree or equivalent required or a minimum of three years successful management experience with a high level of customer relationship knowledge; BS degree preferred. 2. 1 - 3 years experience in related field required. 3. YMCA operations experience preferred. 4. Microsoft Office proficiency required; Trinexium experience a plus. Essential Functions 1. Assist in the implementation of all school age child care and summer camp programs; including the development of new programming. 2. Assist in the supervision of department staff and ensure they are always following all safety and policy regulations. Lead staff to support program initiatives to achieve retention goals. 3. Assist in the recruiting, hiring training, developing, scheduling and directing of personnel and volunteers as needed. Assists in the reviews and evaluation of staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 4. Perform program duties, instruction and direction of programs as scheduled, or in order to provide substitution coverage. 5. Maintain accurate schedules and procedures to provide maximum opportunities for member/staff connections. Collaborate with department leads to maximize enrollments in program registration and usage. 6. Coordinate and schedule facility and equipment maintenance and repairs. Purchase equipment, parts and supplies approved by the purchase requisition process. 7. Monitor daily operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA of the Capital Area health and safety standards and policies. Ensure all staff is current with required certifications. Maintain compliance with required documentation as it relates to programs. 8. Utilize available technology, reporting tools and data that enhance participation and member retention. 9. Assist in the planning and execution of school age child care and summer camp events at the branch. Promote the branch and the YMCA of the Capital Areas special events among the members and community. 10. Assist in identifying active volunteers for the branches Annual Fundraising Campaign. 11. Provide understanding of the mission of the YMCA of the Capital Area to staff and members. Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA of the Capital Area in the branch and its programs. Required Certifications Child Abuse Prevention training; CPR; First Aid; AED; Oxygen Administration. (Within 30 days of hire) Hourly$12.00
