Nature and Scope: Under the direction of the Membership Director, the play center attendant will be responsible for providing dependable, safe, secure and nurturing care to infants and preschool children while members and guest participate in facility activities. This position is part of the member services team and will play a key role in delivering an epic member experience that creates a lasting relationship. ; As a play center attendant, you will greet and assist all parents and guests dropping children off at the play center and welcome each new child. As a member of our high-performing team with a focus on customer service, it will be your responsibility to be curious and aware, offering suggestions that will help us strengthen our customer relationships and maintain the safety and integrity of our brand and facilities.; Minimum Requirements:; * Must have a high school diploma, some college or 2+ years of equivalent work experience in caring for children between the ages of 3months 12 years of age. * A working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, data base management. * Maintain branch and association certification in CPR/AED, Blood-borne Pathogens, branch orientation and branch emergency procedures. Exemplify YMCA ideals, leadership qualities. * Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills. * Must be at least 18 years of age * The ability to stand on feet for long periods of time. * Availability to work a 4-5 hour shift varying between weekday and weekend afternoons.; (total of 20 hours/week) * Approachability with positive interpersonal skills while maintaining security standards and excellent customer service * Experience in handling difficult customers and determining a course of action for the best outcome. * Pass a criminal background and drug screening check. * Attend all staff meetings * Pass a Motor Vehicles Record and have own transportation * Adhere to and implement all policies and procedures listed in training manual. * CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment * Maintain privacy requirements by not sharing member personal information Responsibilities: * Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility. * Provide age- appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, putting children down for naps, holding or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories and play. * Stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the childs registration sheet. * Read to children as appropriate. * Dependability. * Clean and sanitize toys on a regular basis, clean all spills and maintain the area with a high level of sanitation and appeal to the eye. * Be polite, friendly and courteous to all children, parents and volunteers. * Maintain a safe environment at all times * Maintain accurate records for child check-in and check out * Abide by Metro Atlanta YMCAs Keeping Kids Safe Policies as listed in metro Atlanta YMCA employee handbook. * Communicate clearly with parents regarding child injuries, behavior problems or health concerns (green congested runny nose, fever etc.) * Complete accident/incident reports related to injuries or behavior problems and health concerns * Report all equipment and maintenance needs to supervisor or department head immediately * Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community. * Other duties as assigned.
