Summer Day Camp Coordinator, Shartel Church of God, Earlywine Park YMCA YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City 21,417 reviews - Oklahoma City, OK Full-time, Temporary To coordinate planning, development, staff oversight, and implementation of all activities in the child care program at a designated day camp site. This is a position at the Shartel Church of God Youth camp, serving approximately 70 children ages 5-12. Shartel is a day camp program under the Earlywine Park YMCA. The coordinator will supervise the junior counselors and counselors and be an active participant of camp interacting with families of campers. Organization, creativity and energy is a necessity! Note: This is a variable hour, seasonal position, scheduled to work 40 hours per week for the duration of summer programming (typically 12 weeks) and is not eligible for YMCA full time employee benefits as it is only a seasonal full time position during the summer months. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. * Must have an interest in, and like children and exemplify and support the YMCA philosophy. * Must be 21 years of age, have a valid drivers license and good driving record. * Must have a high school diploma or GED and have 12 hours elementary education or child development course work or at least 2 years experience working with children. * Must attend all scheduled YMCA trainings, have current CPR certification and uphold the YMCA employee appearance guidelines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Must stay current in CPRPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually. * Bloodborne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment, Child Abuse Prevention training, Slips, Trips and Falls and Safe Lifting within 30 days of hire and renewed annually. * Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers. * Establish a positive relationship with each child. * Lead games and activities. * Supervise staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children. Including assisting in applying sunscreen and making sure children stay hydrated. * Maintain minimum requirements for state and YMCA standards * Know where all group members are at all times. * Administer and oversee the curriculum outlines on a daily basis as part of the goals set in conjunction with the YMCA director. * Maintain a 1:12 ratio at all times. * Report all injuries and incidences to the site coordinator. * Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings to help plan activities. * Develop positive relationships with parents and staff. * Display YMCA core values (Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility at all times) * Position may require work outside the regularly scheduled program hours. * Implement and ensure the CATCH program curriculum is done on a weekly basis. 16 hours ago - save job - original job Apply On Company Site Other jobs you may like Summer Day Camp Coordinator, Earlywine Park Y...
