This person can work either out of The South Shore YMCA Association Resource office in Norwell, MA or our Camp offices in Sandwich, MA. (some travel to the cape will be required) * This position will work under the direction of the Directors of Development & Marketing and Business Operations, for the South Shore YMCA and Camp Burgess & Hayward. * This opportunity will provide a hands-on learning experience, and includes a membership to the SSYMCA for the duration of the internship, as well as college credits, if needed. (If the intern is seeking credits, the student/school is required to work that out with his/her advisor and pass the necessary information along to the intern supervisor to ensure the internship meets their requirements. The program concludes at the end of Fall Semester. (Flexible start and end dates). About Development & Alumni Relations The Office of Development and Alumni Relations engages donors, alumni, campers, parents, staff and community members in a lifelong relationship and fosters a tradition of philanthropy to strengthen the Camps legacy as a leader in overnight camping and provider of exceptional, transformative outdoor experiences. Real world experience Our intern will spend up to 20 hours per week in our development office either in Norwell or Sandwich (*some travel to Cape Cod will be required), working on meaningful projects serving our Resident Camp and Retreat/Events Center that introduce them to new skills and career opportunities. These challenges will include research and data mining, engaging stakeholders on social media, gathering alumni stories, helping to create marketing and communications collateral and assisting in the planning and facilitation of a milestone anniversary reunion. Along the way, interns will receive valuable feedback and mentoring from experienced professionals. Requirements This is a new internship opportunity. Strong candidates will be pursuing a career in Higher Ed. Admin, Fundraising/Marketing, Development and/or Alumni Relations OR will be interested in Community Organizing or Non-Profit Operations and Management.
