Job Summary: The HR / Hiring Intern will gain hands on experience working in several key areas specific to employee sourcing, candidate recruitment, screening, on-boarding and training. The experience will include promotion of job opportunities, candidate sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates, engaging in the hiring process and DCFS requirements, on-boarding and training of staff. The intern will be assigned to a mixture of special projects and some core job function areas intended to build knowledge and capacity in the skills, systems, and procedures needed to sustain best practices in hiring and HR. Scope of Responsibilities: Projects and duties may include, but are not limited to:Working directly with Hiring Manager and Program Director on all elements of the Hiring process.Assist in the implementation of position promotion.Gain understanding and process for all required documents for hiring to include DCFS.Planning and implementing a special project.Gain understanding of processes and regulations related to DCFS.Assist in the training of new employees.Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor or the person responsible for those items at your site.Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to managing visitors and guests at our facilities.Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.Complete all child abuse prevention training as required.Support the YMCAs mission and center operations as needed.Requirements: Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.Ability to learn and use new database systems and applications.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).Proven success working with others in a team setting.Organized and posses the ability to multi-task in a face paced environment.OptionsApply for this job onlineApplyShareRefer this job to a friendReferSorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
