We are currently looking for a 2018 Summer Human Resources Intern to assist our Human Resources and Finance departments. JOB SUMMARY The Human Resources intern will work directly with the Human Resources and Finance teams to assist in the investigation and analysis of employee compensation across the market resulting in the production of compensation market analysis and employee compensation statements. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Research and investigate compensation designs and practices * Track and analyze compensation and employee data in Excel and create compa-ratios to accurately assess the organizations relative compensation position to the market * Provide support for the management and development of compensation statements for current employees * Assist VP of HR with reviewing and documenting knowledge articles and materials * Review and provide highlights on published studies * Run analysis on compensation equity and various other projects * Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material * Assists with additional administrative and HR tasks as directed Other duties as needed or assigned by the Vice President, Human Resources Key Relationships Interacts with Vice President, Human Resources and all other agency staff This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience * Minimum 3.0 GPA * Incoming College Junior, Senior or Graduate Student * Major Focus or Concentration in Human Resources, Management and Leadership, Business Administration or Finance preferred Skills/Specialized Knowledge/Abilities * Ability to multitask and work independently * Strong analytical skills, with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel * Strong project management and problem-solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Political and social sensitivity * Ability to work with individuals across the spectrum of gender, race, religion, ethnicity, nation origin, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds * Ability to maintain confidentiality within the guidelines of YWCA confidentiality policy and procedure, particularly as it relates to personnel and client issues * Ability to reflect the YWCA mission to empower women and eliminate racism in the workforce WORKING CONDITIONS: Working Hours/Environment * Temporary/Internship * Available to work 12-29 hours per week * Available June 4 - August 24, 2018 This job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment.
