  • Responsibilities

    The Dallas Global Accounting Center Department is seeking qualified undergraduate and graduate students for its summer internship program. The intern will be responsible for evaluating and drafting Desk Level Procedures (DLPs) for our Central and South American Companies associated with Local Statutory (GAAP) general ledger account balances and adjustments to ensure compliance with applicable accounting rules.  He/She will also utilize the Blackline reconciliation tool to review balances in the “Local Statutory (GAAP)” companies for appropriateness of entries.

     OTHER DUTIES 

    • Assist in transition of accounts from Central and South American accounts to Dallas GAC.
    • Document account reconciliations Desk Level Procedures (DLPs) for various accounts across all countries.
    • Create flowcharts for various accounts to determine potential risks and resolution.
    • Rate and report the quality of the general ledger account reconciliation in terms of adequate supporting documentation /ensure that the preparer understands the transactions that comprise the ending balance.
    • Review current databases which capture various types of DLP in the 3 Global Accounting Centers and identify strengths and weaknesses of each database.
    • Utilize the Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) system to create a complete listing of required DLP’s.

    • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
    • Must be detail oriented

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High Proficiency using Microsoft Office products or equivalent software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) - preferred
    • Majoring in or have majored in Accounting or Finance - preferred
    • Must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week
