    ABOUT THIS ROLE:

    This position is on the WorldShip QA Manual Test team. The candidate will be participating in functional requirements and application development design meetings, analyzing functional requirements, writing well written, maintainable, test cases that map to functional requirements, and doing test execution activities. This is a very strategic role on one of UPS's largest QA teams. The successful candidate will have visibility within the QA team and may also interact with development and user teams. Additionally, the role involves maintaining, implementing and assisting with establishing the test methods and procedures necessary for verification.

    The successful candidate will do test case and defect entry/management, specifically Quality Center and MS Office 2010. Knowledge of the software development process and experience on a QA or Testing team is preferred. Also, working experience with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10. Furthermore, coding experience is a plus. The CO-OP will enhance their technical skills by learning system development life cycle methodology and testing. Ability to learn how to analyze business requirements and detailed designs in order to create test cases, execute test cases, log and track defects. Understanding/usage of technology (Internet, Mobile, Touch). Creative problem solving is a must.

    Solid interpersonal & oral/written communication in order to effectively work with QA team as well as developers and users; ability to be self-directed and managed.

    Must be able to work 15 - 20 hours per week while school is in session.  Potentially work 40 hours per week during the summer months.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Beginner-level proficiency with SQL Programming, HTML, Javascript, Web Development Technologies, C#.NET, GUI Design, LAN Administration, TFS Defect Management, HP UFT, Quality Center (QC)
    • Intermediate-level proficiency with Technical Knowledge of Hardware & Software, Microsoft Office
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written), ability to be self-directed and managed
    • Experience with Technical Knowledge of Hardware & Software

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    The desired CO-OP will be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline, or has graduated from a degreed college/university program within that last 24 months with a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline.
