    ABOUT THIS ROLE:

    This CO-OP programming position is on the WorldShip QA Test team. The candidate will be participating in technical automation coding, cloud virtualization and test execution as well as functional requirements and application development design meetings, analyzing functional requirements, writing well written maintainable test cases that map to functional requirements, and doing manual test execution activities. This is a strategic role on one of UPS's highest revenue generation applications. The successful candidate will interact with users and other development teams. Additionally, the role involves maintaining, implementing and establishing test methods and procedures necessary for verification.

    The successful candidate will do automated test script development with QTP/UFT tools in cloud and physical environments. Computer programming, database and virtual PC experience is required. Defect entry/management/analysis will be done via HP Quality Center, MS Team Foundation Server, and MS Office 2017. Knowledge of the software development process and experience on a testing team is preferred. Also, working experience with Windows 7 & 10. The CO-OP will enhance their technical skills by learning agile development and testing. Ability to learn how to analyze business requirements and detailed designs in order to create test scripts, run automated test scripts, log and track defects. Understanding/usage of technology (Virtualization, Hardware, Software, Internet, Mobile). Creative problem solving is a must.

    Ability to be self-directed with solid interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

    MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 15 - 20 HOURS PER WEEK WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION.  POTENTIALLY WORK 40 HOURS PER WEEK DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    BEGINNER KNOWLEDGE OF:

    • C# .NET
    • SQL Programming
    • Object Oriented Analysis & Design
    • Visual Studio 2017  for .NET Developers

    INTERMEDIATE KNOWLEDGE OF:

    • Windows Operating System
    • Microsoft Office
    • Technical Knowledge of Hardware & Software

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    The desired CO-OP will be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline, or has graduated from a degreed college/university program within that last 24 months with a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline.
