  • Responsibilities

    UPS is seeking an Excise Tax Intern for the upcoming semester to prepare tax forms filed with fleet mileage and fuel tax returns. As part of the process, the Intern prepares various schedules and work papers needed to document the tax returns filing, and communicates with Finance and Accounting, state agencies and District Automotive personnel. The Intern works under the direction of the Operating Tax Manager. If you're looking or an internship to gain real-world, hands-on business experience, we want to hear from you!

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Reviews accrual entries, vehicle fleet registration and renewal files for proper preparation treatment for transactions
    • Researches tax statutes and regulations as pertains to the preparation of the tax form for proper tax treatment

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Rising college junior or senior, graduate student, or recent graduate with the last 24 months
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting
    • Ability to pick up software applications easily
    • Proactive self-starter
    • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access software - Preferred
    • Available to work a minimum of 20 to 35 hours per week - Preferred
    • Majoring in or graduated with degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Preferred
