  • Responsibilities

    The Finance and Accounting (F&A) Systems Specialist serves as the liaison between global users, analysts, and developers for systems enhancements and production issues. The role is chiefly focused around analyzing requests, developing reports and supporting integrations utilizing BI tools. In additional, the role supports the direct management team with ad hoc requests and assists in monitoring the team mailbox for user requests for assistance and changes.

    This position requires both a keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb, dissect and translate communication between systems groups and financial/accounting groups in order to produce the desired results. The nature of the role is adaptive and may require sudden shifts in work streams to accommodate changing priorities as new items and tasks arise.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Collaborates with the system staff and developers to communicate production issues to the field
    • Communicates with users to deliver solutions for enhancements, fixes and testing
    • Submits tracker logs to prioritize production issues and to document developer solution activities and user communications
    • Defines and translates production issues to discuss with developers for resolution
    • Monitors progress of developers to deliver code changes
    • Reviews and evaluates business requirements to validate business needs
    • Tests code/report changes to ensure proper functionality
    • Communicates user acceptance testing results to ensure proper resolution
    • Develops and thoroughly tests reports and data models

  • Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Advanced MS Excel skills (or similar) to enable utilization and analysis of detailed spend and certification reports, including pivot tables and generating graphical depictions of results
    • MS PowerPoint skills to create, with guidance from leadership team, finished presentations suitable for senior level and external audiences
    • Good verbal and written communication skills to ensure and clear and detailed communication regarding needs, outputs, and recommendations
    • Demonstrated analytical skills and learning agility (i.e. eagerness and ability to learn a wide array of systems, responsibilities and subject matters)
    • Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate details when requested; maintains organized files
    • Possesses ability to generate reports using software functionality, and/or writing queries; identifies information required to complete reports and identifies existing reports generated by others
    • Demonstrates basic understanding of accounting principles and how those principles would apply to the data flowing through the network
    • Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates technological concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work
