    JOB SUMMARY

    UPS is recruiting for a Winter/Spring International Tax Intern. The Intern will be responsible for preparation of tax forms filed with the corporate income tax return of UPS related to the non-US operations of UPS.  As part of the preparation of the tax forms, the Intern prepares various schedules and work papers needed to document the tax returns filing position, and communicates with finance and accounting personnel in various foreign locations. The Intern works under the direction of the International Tax Manager.

    OTHER DUTIES

    • Review journal entries to verify proper Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax treatment for transactions
    • Research income tax statutes and regulations as pertains to the preparation of the tax form for proper tax treatment

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access software - preferred
    • Able to work a minimum of 20 to 35 hours per week - preferred
    • Majoring in or have completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - preferred

    PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills with proficiency in accounting
    • Ability to pick up software applications easily
    • Proactive and a self-starter
