    UPS is seeking an energetic and dynamic intern to join our Industrial Engineering (IE) team. Does this sound like your ideal opportunity? If so, we want to hear from you!

    The IE Intern will manage a project geared towards the improvement of various processes within the Cargo office operation. The key responsibilities include: documenting information on processes, analyzing large amounts of data, and generating alternate solutions to existing job processes. He/She will work closely with the Region IE team in order to complete tasks.

    The IE intern will be responsible for creating and delivering presentations to the upper management regarding their recommendations. He/She is expected to have advanced excel and analytical skills as they will be working with large amounts of data. Occasional weekend work may be necessary to accommodate business needs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Revises work measurements for proposed changes
    • Creates diagrams of redesigned operation
    • Processes final documented proposal with projected operational savings

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Able to generate and analyze reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrate general knowledge of techniques for analyze large amounts of data
    • Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal supervision
    • Data Management experience – Preferred
    • Experience using Six Sigma, Visio and AutoCAD – Preferred 
    • Post-grad academic level – Preferred
    • Experience using Microsoft Access (create and run queries, coding, etc.) - Preferred
