    The INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT influences the development and implementation of Information Services (I.S.) strategy, initiatives, and governing policies. He/She assembles detailed reviews of the enterprise and documents capabilities and conceives approaches to aligning technical solutions with business needs. This position assists in defining the direction for projects and solution architecture.

    The INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT supports I.S. leadership by planning and championing the execution of broad initiatives aimed at delivering value to internal and external stakeholders. You'll leverage data, technical, and business knowledge to drive the development of capability frameworks at portfolio and enterprise levels. This position is involved throughout the project life cycle with emphasis on the initiation, feasibility, and analysis phases.

    UPS is seeking an INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT to help lead the Transformation of the Technical Services SDG’s manual, high-touch processes to an Infrastructure Platform that is automated, orchestrated and where possible accessed via self-service interfaces. This role will focus on the following:

    • The acquisition and utilization of the Tech SDG technologies/platforms and work to improve the overall experience
    • Analyze the end to end service that the Tech SDG provides, with a focus on streamlining and enhancing the experience

    This position, within the Configuration Management & Infrastructure Orchestration team (CM.io), is to lead the adoption of automation technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, the VMware tool suite as well as guide the integration of these technologies with our IT Service Management platform, ServiceNow.

    As part of this role, the individual will build a roadmap and vision of how customers will interact with and acquire the Services provided by the Technical Services SDG. This will include establishing baselines, scorecards, and statuses on the progress of the Technical Services SDG Transformation. Key efforts would also include introducing process simplification through automation, standardization and rationalizing of processes. This candidate will work closely with peer teams (Cloud Platform & Technology, DevOps Platform, Infrastructure, and SRE teams) to enable the automation of toil, establish Infrastructure-as-Code practices and transform current manual processes into Self-Service based interfaces.  This role will work closely with the Enterprise UX Practice to ensure maximum effectiveness of the overall usability and user experience.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with Network Architecture, C# .NET, .NET, Web Development
    • Knowledge of Architectural Patterns, Architecture and Product Roadmapping

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
    • Networking platforms knowledge preferred
