UPS is seeking an HR Specialist to provide support and tactical solutions in the areas of Organizational Training, Performance Management, Health and Safety, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Labor Relations and Workforce Planning.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Manages candidate sourcing to ensure requisition needs are promptly filled with quality candidates and conducts interviews

    • Evaluates recruiting and interviewing processes and recommends improvements

    • Monitors employment procedures to ensure legal and governmental compliance

    • Develops relationships with colleges, universities and other organizations to source quality candidates

    • Works with various functions and departments to collect information, process requests and create/distribute reports

    • Develops partnerships within organization and provides coaching on routine issues related to policy and procedures

    • Supports management with employee concerns, problem resolution and HR tools/systems

    • Implements recognition programs that promote corporate values and employee retention

    • Collaborates with Benefits and Compensation to implement the merit increase process and support employee performance

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Applies benefits, compensation, retirement and healthcare knowledge to HR programs, processes and issues
    • Understands labor and employment law and impact on business decisions
    • Utilizes knowledge in legal, regulatory and safety compliance to reduce company risk
    • Understands policies and procedures and impact on operations
    • Understands how supply chain and logistics relate to manufacturing and distributing products
    • Applies knowledge of technology trends and best practices to resolve problems, make decisions and achieve business objectives
    • Applies workforce planning knowledge to evaluate labor market and attract talent
    • Synthesizes data to make sound decisions and recommendations
    • Associate’s Degree – Preferred

    Founded on a $100 loan in 1907, 2 teenage boys opened up a messenger service in a 6 by 17 foot office located just below the sidewalk on Second Avenue and Main Street in Seattle, WA.
