  • Responsibilities

    The Enterprise Revenue Management Senior Analyst develops and supports revenue management strategies to ensure profitable growth and yield for business units across the UPS enterprise. This position manages projects and creates pricing guidelines, policies, and procedures for Ocean Freight Services. They'll use advanced data analytics skills to create and administer dashboards/reports, maintain pricing input data, and develop/deploy new strategies across the globe. They'll work closely with Ocean Product, Operations, Pricing, Marketing, Sales and global partners. The Enterprise Revenue Management Senior Analyst may have direct reports.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • DEVELOPS AND ADMINISTERS PRICING GUIDELINES
      • Analyzes and benchmarks pricing components, trends (volume/revenue) by segment, geography and channel
      • Administers pricing guidelines, and authority matrices to create pricing input data used in pricing tools
      • Audits compliance to pricing guidelines, policies and procedures
      • Creates dashboards, models, reports and ad hoc analyses
    • DEVELOPS REVENUE MANAGEMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
      • Analyzes competitive environment and collaborates with internal departments to identify market conditions
      • Gathers and evaluates competitor intelligence to uncover factors for loss and unrealized business
      • Develops pricing response recommended and determines relevant impact to internal departments/systems
      • Formulates clear and succinct policies and procedures to implement
      • Validates costing and pricing models authorization compliance to satisfy external audit requirements
    • DETERMINES CUSTOMER RATES AND PROVIDES INTERNAL CUSTOMER SUPPORT
      • Monitors and analyzes UPS’s and competitors’ pricing posture to develop and implement appropriate pricing responses and strategies
      • Assesses key market conditions, targets customer’s needs, buying behaviors, and negotiating practices
      • Defines and evaluates cost factors and methodologies to develop and implement rates
      • Manages pricing models and pricing input data to expedite pricing process, to protect profitability, and to retain and grow profitable customers
      • Creates and manages revenue management tools to support Pricing and Sales groups
      • Provides revenue management expertise in marketing initiatives to synchronize with revenue management strategies
      • Provides revenue management guidance to internal departments (e.g., Sales, Pricing etc.) to support business decisions and operations
    • MANAGES REVENUE MANAGEMENT SPECIAL PROJECTS
      • Develops profit goals and measurement for revenue management portion of Special Projects
      • Manages communication and sets up regular review meetings for these projects
      • Manages process and administration tools to give visibility to the success of these projects
    • SUPERVISES AND DEVELOPS OTHERS 
      • Determines employee’s training needs to produce continuous development plans; provides on-going feedback for improvement
      • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals
      • Resolves individual and group performance issues in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork
  • Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
    • Ability to multitask and work with cross functional teams; demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
    • 2-4 years of experience in a highly analytical position, focused on product analytics
    • Advanced Excel, Access, Power BI & SQL and/or R/Python
    • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Logistics or Business - Preferred
    • Master’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Business or related field - Preferred
