    JOB SUMMARY

    The Sales Support Specialist processes general office duties that include, but are not limited to, customer concerns, internal audits, back office process compliance, and SLIM management. In addition, the Sales Support Specialist oversees the District Office Business Development administrative personnel.

    The Sales Support Specialist produces sales reports for the field as required, and prioritizes sales support workloads to ensure volume and revenue reports are completed in a timely manner. He/she coordinates sales data requests for the Sales Support Supervisor, and conducts meetings with stakeholders to discuss data findings and obtain feedback. 

    JOB DUTIES

    • Serves as a subject matter expert for the SLIM application and process to ensure proper use.
    • Ensures back office processes are timely, complete, and compliant with corporate guidelines.
    • Conducts internal audits for the back office to ensure compliance.
    • Creates stakeholder correspondence to convey report findings.
    • Reviews report information to verify adequate data is provided when fulfilling requests.
    • Dissects information to identify potential causes for performance fluctuations (e.g., declining sales in a particular region, etc).
    • Provides feedback to requestors to ensure understanding of logic and justification of the analysis.
    • Recommends methods for improving data manipulation and summarization techniques to effectively present results and forecast.
    • Provides analysis that highlights instances where processes and procedures are not adhered to, in order to support compliance.

    • Conducts Competitive Analysis: Demonstrates a basic understanding of competitor’s tactics, product/service offerings, and strategies; translates competitor performance and actions into implications for UPS.
    • Detail Orientation: Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; notes the specifics of events and experiences; explains, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensures that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail.
    • Report Generation: Generates reports in appropriate format using basic software; reviews reports to ensure accuracy and completeness; identifies issues with report generation (e.g., missing variables, incorrect data, etc.).
    • Solicits and Gathers Information: Demonstrates a general knowledge of techniques for soliciting and gathering information.
    • Solves Customer Problems: Recognizes when customers are having issues; identifies resolution to basic customer issues and recommends solutions.
    • Supply Chain Management: Demonstrates a basic understanding of supply chain concepts; identifies issues within a supply chain.
    • Technology Knowledge: Recognizes the basic impact of technology on UPS business, services, and processes; identifies technological barriers in achieving desired objectives; maintains appropriate breadth and depth of technological knowledge for current work assignment.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS       

    • Bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred
