    The UPS ConnectShip, iShip team is seeking a dynamic Software Engineering Intern for automation testing and quality assurance. If you're energetic and driven, and looking for real-world business projects geared towards software development, functionality, and testing, we want to hear from you!  

    The intern will develop and expand ConnectShip|iShip internal test applications and automation, expanding service features and performing continuous engineering for on and off premise implementations. Additionally, the intern will perform continuous engineering to upgrade and optimize the test suites, code and test software based on technical specifications for built software, and create documentation related to the project.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Transforms overall vision and goal into real-world project development map
    • Designs project requirements by studying application documentation and product functionality; conferring with others on project team
    • Designs and tests automation suites
    • Processes structured and unstructured data into a form suitable for application integration
    • Protects database by developing access system; specifying user level of access
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related goals
    • Analyzes reported production issues or manually test applications, as needed

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Demonstrates leadership attributes within classroom, projects, and volunteering
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of management
    • Produces results per established schedules 
    • Detail oriented with good follow-up skills, organized, and self-motivated
    • Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree – Preferred
    • Experience with .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C-Sharp, MS Visual Studio, MS Test Manager or test scripting tools – Preferred
    • Database experience, SQL Server and/or MS Access – Preferred
    • Basic understand of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – Preferred
    • Experience with development processes and requirements analysis – Preferred
    • Intermediate or advanced level experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint tables and charts – Preferred
