CELL LINE DEVELOPMENT INTERN

The Cell Line Development team is responsible for using the patented GPEx® and GPEx® Boost technologies to create high performance stable cell lines using a non-replicative retrovector system. This system can be used with any mammalian cell line and many eukaryotic cell lines. The person in this position will accurately, timely, and safely perform a variety of laboratory procedures and experimental methods in Cell Line Development that support external client projects and internal technology development work.

Responsibilities could include:

• Execute laboratory work plan according to the schedule developed by the supervisor or senior team member. Assists in the execution of efficiency improvement project with guidance.
• Support essential lab support assignments including equipment maintenance and cleaning, lab material stocking, general lab cleaning, 5S organization, and other lab support tasks when required.
• Prepare general lab solutions including cell culture media according to Batch Production Record (BPR) specifications.
• Execute experiments involving cell bank vial thaws, seed train scale-up, production bioreactor operations (high-throughput, bench-scale, and pilot-scale), and cell culture analytical methods that require routine implementation of platform methods that require a minimal amount of modification.
• Execute project responsibilities involving the maintenance of project timelines, communication of results with clients, and transfer of samples and data to other internal functional areas.
• Perform data entry and maintain Batch Production Records (BPRs) of work performed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); also review batch records for coworkers to ensure consistency.
• Other duties as assigned.

THE CANDIDATE

In order to be eligible for this internship at Catalent, you must meet the following requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Must be an undergraduate/graduate student in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field of study
• Eligible to legally work in the United States
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 10-12-week period over the summer
• Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds
