DMPK-BA, BIOANALYTICAL SCIENCES INTERN OVERVIEW
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.
The DMPK-BA, Bioanalytical Sciences Intern will work in the bioanalytical group to support sample analysis of pipeline projects. For this project, the Intern will also conduct testing of sample barcoding to improve sample trackability.
Key responsibilities include:
Work with scientists in Bioanalytical and Drug Metabolism groups to provide lab support on method development and testing of small molecules
LC/MS method development of chiral molecules and prodrugs
Contribute to LC/MS best practices
Maintain detailed documentation of experimental procedures and results
Give scientific presentations and prepare technical reports
Participate in the discussions for testing and implementation of barcoding to improve sample tracking
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or another related field
Must be enrolled in university during the internship period
Good communication and organizational skills are essential
Preferred Qualifications
Expected graduation date between August 2023 - December 2025
Experience with LC-MS/MS for quantitative and qualitative work
Experience with programming in Python and R is desired

The salary range is (minimum: $51,750 to maximum: $101,250)
