PHARMACOLOGY LABORATORY STUDIES INTERNSHIP

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK-BA) Overview:

DMPK-BA scientists work within a matrix environment to identify molecules with the best chemical properties to target a specific disease. Scientists work in a collaborative cross-functional environment in attempt to understand the metabolism, excretion and pharmacokinetic properties of each candidate therapeutic.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work as part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team in an integrated research laboratory

• Conduct laboratory studies in support of biomarker/diagnostic strategy development and execution of individual immune-oncology and immunology R&D projects

• Design, implement and biomarker for use in oncology clinical trials

• Support bioinformatic FACS data analysis platforms to improve upon existing data analysis approaches

• Interact with cross-functional teams to establish productive collaborations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in university pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a laboratory science (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or other related field

• Must be enrolled in university during the internship period

• Expected graduation date between August 2023 - July 2024
