ADC PLATFORM ASSISTANT SCIENTIST INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.
The Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC) Platform Group collaborates with drug discovery project teams across all AbbVie therapeutic areas including Oncology and Immunology. The ADC Platform intern will effectively collaborate with chemists, biologists and pharmacologists to characterize large and small molecules for ADC development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Support the design and execution of 2D and 3D in vitro internalization assays for screening of antibody formats to determine impact of tumor penetration using high content imaging including Amnis Imagestream and ImageXpress Confocal
Generate and characterize labeled antibody formats for binding affinity on target vs non-target cells
Support the mechanism of action studies of trafficking Biologics on 3D spheroids
Work collaboratively with chemist and biologist to develop screening funnel
Demonstrate scientific excellence, work ethic, and dedication to team and project goals
Work collaboratively in a matrix with project teams and members of the Biologics Group to drive innovation and deliver novel therapies to patients
Develop productive collaborations and communication with other groups across therapeutic areas
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biology, Biochemistry or related field
Must be enrolled in university during the internship period
Successful completion of freshman laboratory course(s) in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Exposure to Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Chemistry
Experienced working in a laboratory setting
