    CELL AND PROTEIN SCIENCES ANALYTICS INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

    The Cell and Protein Sciences (CPS) Analytics group within Drug, Discovery Science & Technology (DDST), has an opening for a highly motivated intern to learn various protein conjugation and protein characterization techniques to support discovery initiatives. The intern will be closely mentored by an AbbVie scientist, learning and independently performing various activities related to the biologics drug discovery and development process.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Utilize protein characterization techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods, Mass Spectrometry (MS) Analysis, Spectroscopy, Endotoxin measurements and other bioanalytical methods

    • Use protein modification and conjugation methods to support discovery initiatives

    • Assist with high-throughput and/or automated affinity-based purification screenings with downstream protein manipulation

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or other related field

    • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Familiarity with data analysis, data presentation and statistical software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Prism)
