IMMUNOGENICITY PREDICTION INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

The Immunology group in the Department of Research Non-Clinical and Translational Sciences (RNTS) is seeking an intern to contribute to the research and development in the field of immunology. RNTS is a multi-disciplinary department consisting of Immunology, Toxicology, Clinical Pharmacology, Basic Research, Drug Metabolism, Pathology, and In-vivo functions supporting the area of excellence on Eye care, Aesthetics and Toxins. As a member of multidisciplinary team, the intern will work on AbbVie’s biologics portfolio. The ideal candidate is proactive, inquisitive and a self-starter who is eager to learn and thrives in fast paced environment. Desire to work hands-on in the laboratory in support of biologics drug development and within a matrixed team environment is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Contribute to the development of new immunogenicity prediction models and interpretation
Optimize existing assays for transability of in vitro work to clinical settings
Develop new in vitro and ex vivo immunogenicity prediction tools
Build knowledge base from literature around in silico and in vitro assays
Learn and contribute to immunogenicity risk assessment and develop models
Gain hands-on exposure working with relevant devices and assays
Conduct research on 3D models/organoids to support drug discovery in eye care and aesthetics
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD or PharmD in Immunology, Biochemistry or other related field
Must be enrolled in university during the internship period
Must have experience working with cell-based assays
Must have demonstrated knowledge of immunology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Laboratory skills including mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, western blot, cell-based assays, immunoassays etc.
Experience building knowledge base from literature
Experience with immunogenicity risk assessment and model development
