INNOVATION AND TRANSFORMATION INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

The Enterprise Innovation and Transformation group works side-by-side with the AbbVie executive team on many of the most pressing issues facing the organization, both in the short term and long term. The Enterprise Innovation and Transformation (R&D) intern will partner with leaders across AbbVie to optimize the value of our portfolio of assets and support major initiatives . The role is seeking a high performing individual contributor who has demonstrated an interest and expertise in the biopharma industry and strong desire to advance AbbVie’s strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that will make a real difference for AbbVie’s patients. In return the internship will provide high profile, high impact development experiences.

The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to translate strategic vision into tactical action, identify the highest impact ideas and plans focused efforts to work well in a cross-functional team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Foster innovation on enterprise-critical assets through cross-functional collaboration- topics ranging from evidence package, trial design, clinical acceleration, commercial presentation and launch preparation.

• Support development of high-profile strategic initiatives within the Research and Development (R&D) organization ranging from novel R&D operating models to acceleration of clinical trials to bring innovative medicines to patients.

• Translate strategic vision into action by effectively driving implementation of individual modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including driving the problem-solving process and supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management consideration.

• Bring together strategic, operational, and evidence-based support to lead and create opportunities for sustained ops excellence across functional areas.

• Support individual modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including driving the problem-solving process and supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management consideration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Master’s, MBA, PharmD, PhD or related degree

• Must be enrolled in university during the internship period

• Minimum 2+ years of professional work experience

• Strong project management and problem-solving skills

• Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives

• Capability building / change management skills - leverage empathy and coaching with functional stakeholder to achieve organizational buy-in and long-lasting changes

• Highly collaborative; genuinely enjoys working hand-in-hand with the businesses to develop solutions that advance AbbVie’s overall mission

• Strong communication skills; can comfortably lead meetings with mid/senior-level management.

• Sound business judgment

• Drive, energy, and passion to advance AbbVie’s mission

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Expected graduation date between August 2023 - July 2024

• Experience driving large projects within a complex matrixed organization as a consultant to a pharmaceutical organization, either as an external consultant or an internal cross-functional lead

• The salary range is (minimum: $51,750 to maximum: $128,190)
