    PRECISION MEDICINE, IMMUNOLOGY TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

    Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

    The PMed IMM Translational Research Intern will work with the Precision Medicine Pathology team and assist in the development of tissue-based biomarkers.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Provide entry-level support to the PMed IMM Translational Research laboratory

    • Provide general cell culture support including primary immune cell isolation, media preparation, and changing media

    • Perform RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, qPCR, and cell staining for the flow cytometry

    • Practice the proficient and safe use of all equipment necessary for the completion of all duties and responsibilities (i.e., Automated RNA extraction instrument, qPCR instrument, Flow cytometer, etc.).

    • Exposure to other Precision Medicine labs as warranted through 1:1s with lab leads, as feasible

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry or related field

    • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Exposure to cell and molecular biology, immunology, or biochemistry

    • Experienced in tissue culture, cellular and molecular assays, or flow cytometry
