R&D COMBINATION PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, SYSTEMS ENGINEER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.
Combination Product Development (CPD) develops products like eye droppers, pre-filled syringes, mechanical auto-injectors, complex electro-mechanical patch pumps and continuous infusion pumps. The Systems Engineering group within CPD is responsible for creating and maintaining the Design History File for the products AbbVie develops.
When writing for a given product, design teams typically create them from scratch. The goal is to create an electronic Design Inputs and Risk Management Library (DIRML) where well written needs and requirements and risk management elements are stored, and design teams can simply copy them from the library for use in new projects. Creation of an electronic Design Inputs and Risk Management Library (DIRML) will drive consistency across projects, reduce compliance risks and improve project timelines. Creation of this library will also free up time and allow resources to concentrate on critical tasks needed for the success of a project. The intern will assist with the development of an electronic Design Inputs and Risk Management Library.
