    R&D, PRODUCT & PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

    Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

    In Product & Process Development, the Engineering Intern will work closely with engineers on a variety of tasks supporting the ideation, design and development of medical devices in the field of Regenerative Medicine.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Work under direct supervision of an “assignment manager” on tasks that will support R&D projects in the regenerative medicine pipeline

    • Support physical testing of prototypes and sample materials, data analysis, and documentation/presentation generation

    • Support the fabrication and processing of prototypes in the R&D process lab under direct guidance from experienced team members

    • Organize data in shared collaboration spaces

    • Communicate with team members in brainstorming and problem solving

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, Bioengineering, etc.), or other related field

    • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period

    • Expected graduation date between May 2023 to 2025

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Exposure to undergraduate engineering courses

    • Exposure to working in undergraduate engineering and science laboratory setting

    • Exposure to Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
