    TWIN SCREW GRANULATION INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

Process Engineering is responsible for the development and scale-up of manufacturing processes. Twin Screw Granulation is increasingly being included as a unit operation in pipeline projects, so developing fundamental understanding is critical for success. The Twin Screw Intern will help determine process limitations for highly soluble ingredients which tend to ‘over-granulate.’ The intern will also help refine liquid addition methods for better process control and target desired granule material properties.

    • Characterize samples made during lab experiments

    • Analyze results and summarize into a presentation

    • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

    • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Exposure to manufacturing processes

    • Experience with granulation or knowledge of bulk material properties

    BENEFITS AND AMENITIES
