Procurement Internship Description :

As an AbbVie Procurement intern, you will participate in a paid, ten - to - twelve-week summer program working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide. Procurement employees at AbbVie serve as trusted business partners that deliver value beyond financials through innovation, end-to-end value chain levers, and supply chain assurance and risk. Our global Procurement organization is segmented into two pillars aligned to support AbbVie’s business functions, allowing for a variety of diverse work experiences depending on your degree and experience. Interns will be placed in one of the following functions based on business need:

1. Procurement Strategy and Capabilities : Centralized centers of expertise that enable strategic execution of category management and sourcing to drive value optimization for the business.
2. Business -facing Procurement Functions: Strategic business partnership and global category management aligned to singular functional area.

   • R&D
   • Enterprise Functions & Categories

AbbVie strongly considers high performing interns as candidates for full-time assignments in Procurement in which successful candidates will be rotated strategically through Procurement’s functions to provide a holistic view of the organization and a unique development experience .

Interns will be placed in one of the following U.S locations. Interns will be placed based on business need and background .

• Waco, Texas

Minimum Qualifications :

• Must be currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree : Business and Supply Chain and related majors are preferred ; Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering or related majors will also be considered
• Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship and graduate within 1- year post internship.
• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)

• Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills
• Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills
• Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
