    In this role, the candidate will work to assist the Associate Director, Climate, within the Sustainability Center of Excellence in Environment, Occupational Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EOHSS) in the management of Sustainability efforts related to BMS’ renewable electricity programs. The person will work closely with multiple functions such as facilities & engineering, environmental, occupational health & safety, information technology, and procurement to utilize sustainability, engineering, and business skills to analyze, develop, and deliver technical solutions.

    The Sustainability intern will participate across Environment, Occupational Health, Safety & Sustainability:

    • Monitor site network changes in support of the BMS Sustainability boundary management requirements.

    • Support the BMS Renewable Electricity goals through the development of process flow diagrams for current Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs)

    • Provide operational management and tracking of VPPA Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)

    • Track progress against Statement of Work (SOW) for partnership with Edison Energy

    • Work closely with technical subject matter experts in support of Sustainability activities.

    The intern, at the conclusion of the summer term will be expected to have experienced working in a global function, working across multiple functional areas to deliver technical solutions for either a project or business program.

    • Business Organization

    • Good project management practices

    • Multiple aspects of sustainability and renewable energy programs.

    Qualifications & Experience/Education:

    • Undergraduate currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year.

    • Currently enrolled in Engineering or Science major.

    • Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.

    • Must have a ≥3.0 GPA

    • Previous experience in some job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia

    • Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience.

    Experience / Knowledge Desired:

    • Experience or Major/ Career Focus in engineering, sustainability, experience with renewable energy preferred.

    • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project, etc).

    • Knowledge of Autodesk CADD systems and applications preferred.

    • Experience with Digital Applications preferred (Sharepoint, Tableau).
