Position Summary

Ensure that BMS protects the employees, environment, and community and complies by implementing a tool (electronic SDS form) to evaluate all new chemicals and products before they are brought to the site. The revised electronic SDS form will provide a standardized process for conducting this process, ensuring consistency and reducing EHS team members' time in evaluating the chemical and providing a faster response to the customer requesting to bring this chemical or product to the site.

Key Responsibilities

Review and automate the Safety Data Sheet evaluation form. Review the content of the existing paper SDS form and change the paper to electronic form. Before using a new chemical and product, it must evaluate its impact on the environment (ex., waste disposal, agency reporting requirements) and ensure that the employees that will use the chemical and product understand the risks and how to prevent exposure. The SDS evaluation form is also the tool to identify if any new regulatory requirements are required before bringing the product and/or chemical to the site.

Qualifications & Experience

• Third- or Fourth-year students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/ Environmental Engineering or Chemistry, Computers
