    Job Description

    As an AbbVie Procurement Intern, you will participate in a paid, ten-to-twelve-week summer program working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide. AbbVie’s global Procurement business offers you an opportunity to work in a variety of functions based on your degree type.

    We are seeking a curious and motivated intern for the Summer 2026 program to join the Enterprise Functions & Categories (EFC) Procurement team. As an intern, you will gain broad exposure to procurement processes, digital and analytical tools, business strategies, and sustainability practices. You will have the opportunity to focus on projects within specific procurement categories such as IT, Meetings & Events, Facilities, or People & Benefits, contributing to strategic initiatives within AbbVie.

    Overview:

    • Learn Procurement Fundamentals: Acquire knowledge in sourcing basics, supplier management, category management, and industry-specific regulations within the pharmaceutical sector.
    • Develop Digital & Analytical Skills: Gain proficiency in procurement tools, analyze spend data and market trends, and explore AI-driven innovations transforming procurement strategies.
    • Enhance Business & Financial Acumen: Conduct cost-benefit analysis using best practices and develop understanding of AbbVie’s financial cycles and procurement impacts.
    • Improve Communication & Relationship Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, enhance stakeholder management, and develop foundational negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
    • Focus on Innovation & Sustainability: Propose process improvements using AI and automation, practice creative problem-solving, and contribute to sustainable procurement and ESG initiatives.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related major.
    • Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship
    • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)
    • Demonstrated experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
    • Expected graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Expected graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a keen interest in procurement strategies.
    • Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills
    • Proven track record of teamwork, eagerness to learn, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
